Wondrous item, legendary

Giant Canary. Speak the command word and throw it up to 60 feet: it becomes a giant canary mount for up to 8 hours. Once per dawn.

Gold Dragon. While you're at half your hit points or fewer, a second command word makes it an adult gold dragon for up to 1 hour, without legendary or lair actions. Once a year.

In either form it is friendly, understands your languages and obeys your commands, reverting early at 0 hit points or when you speak the command word again.
