Vigil

Vestige: Vigil

Description: Vigil is a large shield crafted from celestial bronze, intricately engraved with an eye that actively watches its surroundings. This divine eye imbues the shield with heightened awareness, ready to protect and react.

Properties:

• Armor Class (AC) Bonus: While wielding Vigil, you gain a +3 bonus to AC. This bonus increases to +4 when the shield is in its awakened state and to +5 when it is in its Exalted state.
• Perceptive Guardian: While attuned to this shield, you gain proficiency in the Perception skill. If you are already proficient in Perception, you may add double your proficiency bonus to checks made with that skill.
• Guardian's Intercept (Dormant): As a reaction, if a creature within 5 feet of you is attacked, you can impose disadvantage on the attack roll. If the attack still hits, you may choose to take the damage in place of the original target.
• Extended Guard (Awakened): The range of Guardian's Intercept increases to 30 feet. Additionally, if you take damage using Guardian's Intercept, you regain hit points equal to half the damage taken at the end of your next turn.
• Psychic Shield (Awakened): You gain resistance to psychic damage.
• Divine Strike (Exalted): The range of Guardian's Intercept increases to 60 feet. When using Guardian's Intercept, you can choose to teleport to a space adjacent to the attacking creature and make a Wisdom-based melee weapon attack against the creature as part of the same reaction. On a hit, the attack deals 2d8 radiant damage.
• Warrior's Prescience (Exalted): You gain advantage on initiative rolls. Additionally, you cannot be surprised while you are conscious, reflecting your heightened state of divine alertness.

Vigil is designed to evolve with its wielder, enhancing their capabilities as a vigilant protector under the divine watch of "The Allseeing." As it progresses through its stages—Dormant, Awakened, and Exalted—Vigil solidifies its place as a cornerstone of the wielder's identity, enhancing their role as both a guardian and a beacon of divine will.
