Character building at the pub, with no play. Campaign 2 begins on 18 Suns Dawn 1034 PC, the 613th anniversary of the coronation of Maxim, First Emperor of Xinsi (crowned 421 PC). There had been no emperor for 16 years. Rumour held that the last emperor died at the hands of the Aspect, either sacrificing himself or bringing it on himself, and with commerce now governing the empire, the rumour mill served profit.

Trade in the north worked like this: merchants held goods on consignment, owing about 90% to the thieves' guild or similar backers, and their children were indentured if they failed. This was part of how Bragg came to be "on that boat" with the party.
