The Inquisitor and the dragon

After the party defeated Lysara The Inquisitor of The Eightfold, soldiers held them in place ("I only have to keep you here") until an adult blue dragon with a handler fell on them. It was nearly a total party kill. Binkette threw magic beans; only one took, and on a one-in-ten chance it raised an ancient pyramid, which saved them. The Pyramid of Shade Hollow now dominates the north end of Shade Hollow. The party escaped into the sewers.
