Reid Ransom

Player character Campaign 3 · The Twilight Anarchy

Celestial-touched scion of the Ransom family and follower of the Infinite Scroll; a campaign 3 PC.

Reid Ransom was a player character in The Twilight Anarchy (campaign 3). Touched by faint celestial light, he ran deliveries for Cato in Shade Hollow. He came from the wealthy Ransom family of The Ransom Compound in the heartland of The Xinsi Empire, near New Xinstock, and was once a member of The Dread Hollow Snags, where he knew the halfling Rick Soko. He has a sister, and his grandmother had powers of her own and a mysterious box; the party later found an elderly woman keeping watch on the Elemental Plane of Air.

His patron is The Infinite Scroll, whose servant Zeph spoke with him and used him to expose who had waylaid the Scroll; he wears The Confidant, a ring that draws out secrets, and carried a compass that points to powerful objects across the planes. The egg in the party's shared dreams came from him. He was drawn into Lord Cedric's prophecy and wanted to know why The Nocturnal Loom had singled him out ("why me?") and to meet someone called Telupa.

Reid was arrested and released in the Pearl on Bytopia in January 2025, met the mad dwarf Durn, and by April 2025 carried the Infinite Scroll Source. When the party rallied the gods he did most of the talking, selling the iron flask that had held Cedric to the Opulent Broker.
