An Orc Philosopher's Cogitations on Elves, Beasts and Battle is one of the few books for sale in the Suncloud General Store in Hanging Suncloud. Its author explains the world with total confidence and no accuracy: the sky pushes everyone down because it is a coward, the sun is a giant candle relit each morning, steam is the ghosts of fish, rocks roll downhill because they are lazy, and other peoples descended from small furry animals, whereas orcs have always been orcs. A few passages land on the truth by accident, such as washing your hands to drown the tiny monsters that make you sick. It shares the shelf with a book of Orcish Haiku about axes, raids and dwarf beards, a badly dog-eared Complete Idiot's Guide to Masonry, and On Dunamancy, which holds the spell Magnify Gravity.
