The Vivisectors

The party learned the moth-like, scythed creatures (vivisectors, or chasme) emit a zone of silence and drop victims from a height. In the village, where Taz'Or Ka found more corpses 10 to 20 days old, they were ambushed at the inn and killed a giant bloated vivisector; Brother Oils nearly died. Inside a locked metal cart was Ologeck, a green-skinned elf drug pedlar the villagers had blamed for the killings. Healing afterwards, Rainclaw and Slick noticed Oils' anointing oil genuinely healing him, which he did not notice. Rainclaw bathed the flea-bitten rat Crumb Seeker in alcohol.

The village is Blackreed, two days south of the Slough; the players' notes do not name it.
