Taz'Or Ka

Taz'Or Ka is a player character in the Godscar (campaign 4): a lean lizardfolk monster hunter of the Devourer Guild. "Ka" is the name taken at adolescence; "Taz'Or" marks his tribe. He is tactical and decisive, leaves long-term planning to others, and believes "the hunt ends when the prey is dead".

Background

Taz'Or Ka comes from the Tazor Tribe on the River Or in the jungles of Khevasa, a hunt-culture famed for stalking apex predators and aberrant beasts. The tribe records its history in songlines, the ritual eating of kills and hallucinogenic draughts made from prized remains. Before leaving he clutched, and his young skinks are being raised by the tribe's elders.

A wasting disease is afflicting those elders. Old songlines speak of a cure carried in the brain, beak and organs of an owlbear, so Taz'Or Ka set out to hunt one. In Wildharbour a gnome wizard sold him "owlbear parts" that turned out to be mere bear. Following rumours of a great beast, he travelled on to Sandwater Slough, where he lodges at The Bent Compass, labours at Netmenders' Court and runs messages and canal jobs for Brother Oils using his prodigious swimming. The one city guard who caught him did not resurface. An old man claiming to be a Watch clerk pointed him to The Low Lantern Archive for records of animal attacks.

Answering a small voice from the sewers, he joined Rainclaw to kill The RatKEENG, tearing the creature apart despite his wounds and sharing its heart with Rainclaw.

In the Godscar

From the flooded Archive Taz'Or Ka saved a book of insurance payouts showing owlbear attacks on the roads around the Slough. He tracked an oversized, corrupted owlbear family to a den in the foothills of The Dragontooth Mountains and barely escaped a two-headed adolescent owlbear by reaching the water. He carries an intensely magical owlbear skull that turns to watch doors and gives an electric jolt when licked. In Rillachor he gained telepathy from eating robots and pulled a child (presumably The Fishman's baby) out of the corruption around the twisted Archivist.

When the party killed the owlbear mother he learned the reason for his quest runs deeper: his village elders show the same signs as The Corruption spreading through the Slough. He now carries an SCP deputy badge. On 2026-07-01 he followed his skull into The Gilded Maw. In Hysteria he struck a deal to supply hunt catches to "Meat" and has been hunting to the north for food.
