Protocol Mu

Item Campaign 3 · The Twilight Anarchy

Imported from Scabard, not yet reviewed

Protocol Mu (The Mystic Muzzle):

  • Detailed Concept: A subdermal implant injected into targets, creating an anti-magic field within and immediately around the individual, nullifying all magical abilities they try to use. It's a powerful tool for neutralizing spellcasters and preventing the use of magic in sensitive situations.
  • Operational Elements:
    • Implantation: The Mystic Muzzle is a small, syringe-injectable device that attaches itself just beneath the skin. It's typically administered to prisoners, high-risk individuals, or even unwitting agents.
    • Effect Radius: The anti-magic field is personal and immediate, covering only the implanted individual, ensuring they cannot cast spells, activate magical items, or benefit from magical healing.
    • Detection and Removal: The implant is detectable through careful magical or medical examination. Removing it requires a skilled individual performing a precise medical procedure under the right conditions, often involving a counter-spell or specialized equipment provided by Jorim.
    • Security Measures: To prevent easy removal, the implant may have defenses such as a toxin release or a signal transmitter to alert The Eightfold if tampering is detected.
  • In-Game Impact: Discovering a Mystic Muzzle implant in an ally or important NPC presents a dire situation. The party must find a skilled medic or spellcaster to safely remove the device, all while potentially under the watchful eye of The Eightfold. It adds urgency and a layer of complexity to rescue missions or when dealing with double agents.
