Elrithien

Guildmaster Elrithien led The Star Scorpion Guild, which his journal calls the Star Scorpion Crafters' Guild. A master inventor, he set the guild to building automatons; its first great device was the Arcane Loom, which wove magic and metal into their exoskeletons. His research journal goes on to describe the Soul Luxon as a reincarnation cycle for machines, the guild's infernal clients, and a visor commissioned by The Ashen Covenant, from whom the guild hid that its automatons had become sentient.

His work survives in relics: Xosomasaux's coat, a star-elf relic of his making, and the guild's visor that became Olaf's Visor of Fathoms.

He is long dead. In 1034 PC Shoshana sent the party to "seek out Guildmaster Elrithien", and they found his tomb in Mechanus (The Celestial Machina or the Genesis Forge): an elegant chamber of elvish and mechanical craft whose bas-reliefs show his life as an inventor and traveller of the cosmos. His remains lie in a sarcophagus of interlocking mithral and adamantine plates whose tiny gears never stop turning, flanked by four elven statues, and the epitaphs call him the courageous visionary of the guild, who dared to defy the darkness. Through the walls Olaf glimpsed a body in the coffin with one mechanical hand and one mechanical leg.
