The Carrion Watcher
Item Campaign 4A small, corruption-veined owlbear skull that turns on its cord as if listening; Taz'Or Ka's signature item.
The Carrion Watcher
Wondrous item (requires attunement)
You can't be surprised, and you gain +2 to initiative rolls. Faint movements, breathing and vibrations reveal danger before it strikes.
Predator's Edge. +1 to attack and damage rolls with weapons and unarmed strikes.
Owlbear Ambush. Once per long rest you can cast Zephyr Strike without components. Your movement becomes silent, your muscles coil like a striking beast, and the empowered attack lands with the sound of tearing feathers and a snapping beak.
The skull is small for an owlbear, no larger than two cupped hands. The bone is pale but heavily stained by dark, jagged veins of corruption that creep through the cracks like frozen ink. The eye sockets are empty, yet not hollow: something darker sits deep within them, like a wet shadow suspended inside the bone. When the skull is still it slowly pivots on its cord binding, turning a few degrees at a time, as though listening to the world.
It belongs to Taz'Or Ka.
Also known as Carrion Watcher, Taz'Or Ka's owlbear skull, the owlbear skull.
