Ashwell is a village of 200 to 300 people in the valley east of Hysteria, far to the west of Sandwater Slough. Once a limestone town, it was cut off by desertification 20 to 30 years ago and keeps some trade. Four "rubbish geysers" stand at equal points around it, a pressure system slowly bubbling up goods, some trash and some useful parts, from a site of the Wildness beneath. The party arrived on a blasted mountainside nearby after fighting dragons (2026-08-05), met a patchwork person, and were sidetracked by the novelist Wilma Thrustcok. Below the town they fought rust monsters, befriended three dust creatures, worked for Cornelius Amos Dagonlette and fought hippo-men of The Guild of Harrow.
