The Low Lantern Flood

The Godscar opened on the morning of 18 Suns Dusk 1047 PC. Rainclaw Foundwhiskers, Taz'Or Ka and Slick were each in The Low Lantern Archive in Sandwater Slough for their own reasons when Uldrick arrived through the Conduit, and moments later the rear wall burst and the sunken archive flooded with warm, expensive vintage olive oil pumped through the storm culvert from somewhere near Three Anchors Square.

Five small black imps in the oil, the Grrlips, went for one book, a register of southern-seas ship departures and registrations going back more than twenty years; the party killed them and kept it. Uldrick kept an infernal book showing a burning tree webbed in silver (Stephen's Record of Infernal Spells), Slick the oil-wastage records (barrel counts began showing "wastage" thirteen years ago, when his family name was blackened, under an illegible stamp) and a bucket of the oil, and Taz'Or Ka a book of insurance payouts for animal attacks. Rainclaw dragged the guard Veskan from the oil three times. The Archivist had not turned up. Uldrick explained that his dwarven city (The Citadel) vanished thirty years ago, eight thousand years for him, and that The House of Amber was the dwarves' last contact. Gopdelina Widgettop of The SCP, newly arrived to investigate creatures that don't belong, took an interest in the Grrlip corpses, and the guard told the party not to leave town. The party reached level 2.
