The Great Lift
Place Campaign 2Fort Obsidian's tallest lift, 200 feet of vertical terror.
The Great Lift is the tallest of the chain lifts that link the wards of Fort Obsidian: 200 feet of vertical terror that needs two of the city's aarakocra marshals to run. Like the others it is a paternoster-funicular hybrid of constantly running chains, at a silver piece a passenger. Inside the foundation stone and under The Echelon are many apartments for the city's wealthier residents, such as shopkeepers of The Grand Bazaar and shrine-keepers of The Agora. In 1034 PC the party followed the labour boss Valen onto the lift system, and SAM tackled him out of a lift about 40 feet up, breaking his legs.
Also known as The Grand Lift.
