The Southern Slopes
Place Campaign 4Terraced olive-grove hills on Sandwater Slough's southern edge, source of the oil behind its wealth.
The Southern Slopes rise in terraces on the southern side of Sandwater Slough, stone retaining walls holding back the olive groves whose oil fuels the city's wealth; the air smells of oil and sun-warmed bark rather than brine. Rainclaw judged that the oil which burst into The Low Lantern Archive could only have come down from the slopes' press-houses if it had been deliberately redirected into the storm culverts, or if containment had failed catastrophically.
