The Thing of Sadness

In April 2021 the Fatemakers bought and ate some rocks and nearly died. The rocks were meteorites "from beyond the spheres": touching one forced a Wisdom save against stun and paralysis, with visions of faceless things turning to look at you. Bralmur cracked one open and found a hedron of two pyramids with writing "in nightmare".

The rocks were a beacon. A mass of tentacles with many mouths, singing "the song of pure lamentation", surged up the river toward Luktow. The town's defence towers pinned it with giant bolts while Cirella rained Firestorms on it, and Bralmur, in his Avenging Angel form, finished it. It brought down a tower and crashed into Luktow's bridge. Four orc defenders died, and Rexy died when a meteor struck his barge.

A Sending from The Dottenland reported dozens more: giant balls falling from the sky and fighting tentacles. The Dottenland began barging the remains out to sea. The attack was a herald of The Skyfire.
