The Dottenland
Place Campaign 1Campaign 3Northern nation, once a militaristic drow-ruled monarchy, that overthrew its drow leaders and became the mixed-race republic of Potenxia; shares an uneasy border with the Xinsi Empire.
The Dottenland, renamed Potenxia after its revolution, is a northern nation bordering The Xinsi Empire (the border is disputed and has been under ceasefire since the Skyfire) and The Burg. Its capital is Rookfall. Before the revolution a drow dynasty ruled it as a small, militaristic, tiered society built on feudal caste slavery. When the Dottenland became Potenxia it overthrew its drow leaders; a small drow population still lives there, and Potenxia is now a mixed-race nation.
Campaign 1. The Fatemakers dealt with its embassy in Xinstock and with an informant in Kiforth. They helped avert a war between the Dottenland and the Empire, and they were asked to visit Princess Sneeze. Braggum began his seafaring career in Dottenland ports, and Theo was schooled at Nafen (the city later replaced by Rookfall). During the endgame of The Skyfire the Dottenland reported dozens of giant balls falling from the sky to fight tentacled horrors; their remains were later barged out to sea. In the Ruination that followed, aberrant kaiju destroyed its navy and overran its armies. Revolution came (The Dottenland Revolution), the royal family was largely executed, and a democracy was declared, though secret powers still vie for control. The country took the name Potenxia, from the slaves' language, meaning "never again". The campaign 3 party dated the fall of the drow dynasty to about twenty years before 1040 PC.
Campaign 3 (1040 PC). The party began in Shade Hollow on the border and later went to Rookfall, where the revolutionary ministers rule and loyalists flee the "Proletariat inquisitions". The ministers are:
- Aric Windmere, Commerce and Recovery
- Yelena Greenroot, Agriculture
- Tharivol Liadon, Justice and Equity
- Bruna Ironhand, Urban Development
- Valeria Sunblossom, Culture and Education
- Gaius Emberfall, Mystical Affairs
- Kethra Moorwalker, Foreign Affairs
- Baldric Stonefist, Minister of the Inquisition
Lord Cedric of the Eightfold was born in the Dottenland. The halfling merchant Rick Soko runs trade between Rookfall and Xinstock.
Also known as Potenxia, Potexania, Dottenland, Dotterland.
