Loviatar is the goddess of pain. Since the Divine Gate she has been called the First Thorn, and her symbol is a whip wound with thorns (see The New Gods).
- Campaign 1: the Disciples of the White Rod, a cult of Loviatar that kept a stronghold on the Crying Key (also spelled Crying Quay), had been hollowed out by a demon who used the church to gather meat for experiments. In January 2020 (real time) Loviatar spoke to Wraith and granted him a boon: "whenever you bring suffering to one deserving, do so in my name." His rapier grew into the White Rod of Loviatar. "Loviatar and the Crying Quay" became one of the campaign's arcs.
- Campaign 4: The First Thorn House in The Gutterline Warrens of Sandwater Slough is licensed to carry out the city's sanctioned punishments and penances.
