The New Gods
Lore Campaign 1Campaign 2Campaign 3Campaign 4The present-day pantheon of Eavaros, whose titles replaced the old gods' names after the Divine Gate closed.
Since the Divine Gate closed after The Calamity, the gods of Eavaros can no longer walk the world, and over the centuries mortals have come to call them by titles rather than names. The Soul Forge murals show the gods taking up "masks, new names, new titles" as the Gate shut. By campaign 3 (1040s PC), people refer to the gods mostly by these new names, and campaign 4's Sandwater Slough uses them exclusively. The old names survive in older texts, in campaign 1's Xinstock (Temple Row) and Bosia, and in Fort Obsidian's Agora.
The New Gods replace the old pantheon. In the present day the New Gods are the pantheon of Eavaros; they do not sit alongside the old one. The old names (Helm, Mystra, Lathander and the rest) are historical: the names the same powers bore before they took up their masks, kept now as aliases and in old texts and temples.
The table below maps old names to new. Pages in the codex use the old name where one exists and give the new name as an alias, for example Helm (the Eternal Sentinel), Mystra (the Celestial Weaver), Chauntea (the Amber Queen), Beshaba (the Shattered Mirror), Cyric (the Whispered Betrayal), Eldath (the Lotus Dreamer), Gond (the Master Maker), Myrkul (the Lady of Ravens), Loviatar (the First Thorn), Ilmater (the Bound Martyr), Tymora (the Laughing Luck), Waukeen (the Opulent Broker), Lliira (the Star Dancer), Umberlee (the Raging Depths), Talos (the Stormlord), Shar (the Voidmother), Sune (Radiance), Talona (the Poisoned Tear), Bhaal (the Blood Weaver) and Tyr (the Astral Judge). The Dawnbringer (Lathander), The All Seeing (Deneir) and The Infinite Scroll (Oghma) have pages under their new names.
The 2026 pantheon handout repeats this table and adds two gods: The Orb Weaver (Knowledge and Trickery; a silver web around a void; goddess of hidden connections and divine manipulation) and The Harsh, marked as dead (Madness and Sacrifice; a fractured crown with silvered webs). Gods outside the table also appear in play: The Raven Queen, Quorlinn (the kenku trickster), Hor, the crab demigod Karkos and the Rime Lord of the northern dragonborn (campaign 4).
In play
- Campaign 3 turned on the gods. The five who last walked the world were the Shattered Mirror, the Celestial Weaver, the All-Seeing, the Infinite Scroll and the Whispered Betrayer; they went into the Moondrop Caldera, a volcano between the Seelie and Unseelie courts. Their Sources power the Divine Gate, and the party carried several: the Celestial Weaver (Thoren Blackthorn), the Shattered Mirror (Kael Sunstrike), the Infinite Scroll (Reid Ransom) and the Eternal Sentinel (Aniketos). The darkness the party fought in the Feywild in 2024 was the Eternal Sentinel, which by October 2025 had become "a mindless vortex". The Gate stays anchored "because the last god was turned into obsidian and is spread across the galaxy", and the party was told "there is no crime graver than naming the Betrayer", whose epithet was scoured from all records. In the September 2025 trials the gods were grouped by domain: Knowledge and Craft (the Infinite Scroll), Light and Life, War and Tyranny, Trickery and Illusion, Death and Darkness, and Nature and Tempest. The Raven Queen, patron of Aniketos, told the party to understand and undo the evil Soul Luxon. In October 2025 (real time) the party convinced every god to unite against The Harsh: the Astral Judge, the Voidmother, the Raven Queen, the Silent Arbiter, the Blood Weaver, a god of the whip, the Oracle, the Star Dancer, the Flame, the Opulent Broker, the Feathered Deceiver, the Eternal Sentinel (doubtfully), the Unyielding Fist, the Amber Queen, the Lotus Dreamer, the Shattered Mirror, the Dawnbringer, the Raging Depths and the Stormlord.
- Campaign 4: Sandwater Slough's seven licensed temples each hold a civic contract: The First Thorn House (the First Thorn), The Hall of Radiance (Radiance), The House of the Poisoned Tear (the Poisoned Tear), The Trade Temple (the Opulent Broker), The Star Dancer's Stage (the Star Dancer), The House of Amber (the Amber Queen) and The Weaver's Knot (the Blood Weaver). The Bound Martyr's old temple is now The Barons' Council Hall. Brother Oils favours the Dawnbringer, the Bound Martyr, the Lotus Dreamer, the Transcendent Note and the Amber Queen. Hysteria has churches to the Lady of Ravens, the Celestial Weaver (a shrine on "baby island") and a third god the party recorded as "a Beast Lord"; all three effectively take sacrifices. The Amber Queen speaks through the amber pool beneath The House of Amber, calling herself "the manifestation of the Queen of Amber, denizen of a different place", and Brother Oils channels the Star Dancer.
The Feathered Deceiver is Mask in the table below, but the Feathered Deceiver is Quorlinn, the kenku god whom Scribble created or awakened.
