The Nightpeak Ball

Event Campaign 2 · After Skyfire

A lunar festival when all moons are considered to be new.

The ball fell on Nightpeak itself, 8 Midyear 1034, and was held within the palace at Vistas Landing.

Significant work is put into decorating the palace ball room for the event.

An arched ceiling, with entrances at each cardinal decorated in small woodland murals at the north and south ends, the south where you enter is girt with mint green and white silks offset with deep purple almost black flowers. Upon close inspection these are living growing flowers, but delicate and almost perfect as if they were crafted.

To the eastern wall you see 2 entryways and bus boys with plates or horderves and mugs of ale and a dark red wine to the west a small alcove leading to what appear to be privies, and to the north a large central dias where sit the leadership of the city, with large double doors leading back behind. 2 smaller doors to either side allow guests to enter from chambers within the palace. The floor is intricate polished knot-work parquetry,

About the room small groups are present

Noble looking denizens mill about, to the south-western corner a small band plays mellow yet haunting tunes.

On the dias :

The Queen dressed in vibrant forest green with black and purple accents.

Luveric Ruven in ceremonial but still very visibly utilitarian armour.

Vicera Saida in state robes as always, her spell book is barely visible, you get the feeling if not alert and expecting trouble she would have not brought it.

Various groups throughout the space.

A goliath man with 2 human women.
The women are strikingly beautiful, wear slight veils across their faces with a lot of exposed skin and gold and white ornamentation, shimmering soft materials, akin to silk.
The man in juxtaposition is almost beastly looking, his skin is scarred, and his facial tattoo are crossed with many scratches, that appear to be beast claw or weapon. He wears a minimal domino mask of black hardened leather with a small cage motif etched across it.

This is Tomra Beast Breaker, of Wildharbour, baron of the western Khevasa wild lands, an honoured guest who is here working with The Harvest to acquire competitors for the great games that are to run for 100 days and 100 nights. "My benefactors seek great beast to compete for the pleasure of their constituents."

The girls go by the name Verka and Aja

A group of dragonborn, in military attire approximating Sam's but with almost woven sections of wood. Black as the dominant colour with white accents in a few places, and red detailing more intricate on that of the leader, they wear moulded resin masks in varying colours, and each has a red sash that hangs from their waists it has intricate black design motifs of dragons on it.
The servants are Haoshen and Laoyan, the leader stands several inches above his colleagues, and his mask is an intricate affair of cut obsidian replete with a wave of amethyst across the brow. It evokes the visage of a powerful, large dragon.
This is Heishen, Primarch of Creatis. From Fort obsidian.

A poorly disguised Saber Netherthirst. He wears the pristine and fine gothic attire with black lace and black metal clasps that you have come to expect. Rings that on any other would appear gaudy match the deliberate look he is presenting. His mask a full faced venetian affair, white, with small crystals across the surface that break the candlelight into a series of rainbows that play across it, the mask is capped with a set of rams horns, that curl back behind the head.

By his side to left and to right are 2 very obviously wizardly assistant, almost caricatures of magic men.
They wear long grey robes and white blank masks, seemingly lacking eyeholes. If spoken to, they will respond noncommittally. If people can detect undead, they will show as undead as with Netherthirst.

Standing in a corner are Masterson and Felicity from The Harvest and reagent bank. They seem awkward and do not appear to be having a good time, Felicity is wearing an elegant black dress and a simple Venetian style mask in gold, (which she has to wear her glasses over) Masterson is wearing what appears to be a very over used domino style mask, and the only additional artefact to his usual leather attire, is a shoulder sash in the green sky blue and gold of Saratan, and a clasp of a crab in almost gun metal across his collarbone.

A female orc in a slightly gaudy blue cloak with heavy golden chains across the shoulders. Wears a 3 quarter masquerade mask with a fox snout and ears. Her 2 very obvious heavies wear moth masks, with wings over the eyes in a pale green with yellow bipectinate antennae, they wear simple black wear otherwise.

This is Shelur, she is a councillor in Luggard Dror, a member of The Forum, obviously being controlled by the Heavies who will lean in to speak in her ear from time to time.
The names of the heavies are Relug and Frug.

Headmaster Ib just wanders between the food and drink and disregards any in attendance unless engaged directly, he has no retinue.

8 .

Governor Scotrik of Reefwatch, a thick halfling man, balding on top, with a rabbit's mask in the colours of Reefwatch to match his slightly gaudy court attire, obvious creases it is not used often, with the orange and yellow being slightly dulled from flags you have seen on the sea. He is accompanied by his mistress, a halfling named Safice, she wears a yellow summer dress and a similar rabbit based mask, her son is also in attendance, though seems completely bored. He wears a simple orange domino mask and basic doublet. Her son looks like Scotrik, but he will deny paternity.

Tall for a human, with gaunt features and long raven black straight hair. Dark eyes and lips with a penetrating stare, very heavy demeanour. A black cloak over what appears to be Lorica segmentata of high quality, likely hasn't seen a lot of combat, seems to be more ceremonial. 2 thick faced tabaxi stand either side in leather gilets slightly noticeable is a brand of a symbol on the upper shoulder, investigation, or arcana, or nature would let the user identify it as an archaic representation of the spell component sand. This is a merchant prince from the independent free port of Sandwater Slough. He is a slaver and his name is Lorbid

The party probably attended the ball on 2022-04-25 (real date). Several of the party died there.
