The box is now our only priority. other avenues can wait. We need it open ASAP, the intel that K and S have says the fork is inside. And T and D both think they can use it. If not S has a contingency, there's an elvish ruin not far from reefswatch, apprantly some ancient ruin with magical aparatus, he thinks there will be more.

1. Talking to the head, claims that only the escorts can open the box. not helpful, left him with D
2. Talking to the Wizard, his brain is mush and he just cries a lot, death might have been kinder but S is a bit of a sadist.
3. Basic magics, what S calls Dispelling, no effect.
4. Knock spell, S says if he can learn this spell then maybe he can open it.
5. Talking to the simulacrums, the mutiple copying has made them.... unreliable, they don't seem to know or want to tell us how the chest was locked.
6. Brute force, D wailed on it for a while and T turned into a mammoth and stomped on it, K even shot it.
7. Capture someone from the palace at Vistas Landing, this plan will have to wait until we find access, S thinks he might know a way.
8. Capture one of the travellers. Its probably for the best we didnt kill all of them, though they might still be more trouble than they are worth.
9. K aquired some chime, opens simple stuff, opens doors and the likes but the chest wont budge.

In campaign 2

The party found this letter in 1034. "C" is Clef Neverthirst. The box is The Chest Of Great Treasure. The talking head was probably that of a fallen party member, and "the Wizard" whose mind was mush appears to be Master Longhand.

The notes for The Nightpeak Ball include this letter as "the Undercommon book", with a scroll of Speak with Dead tucked among its pages.
