The Axebane
Place Campaign 2Meradana's childhood forest, preserved by her King in Yellow wish inside the Red Wastes' Shell.
The Axebane is the forest where Meradana grew up, in what became The Red Wastes. When Herentor's weather spell was dispelled and the dwarven steppe of The Restless Expanse dried out, hot winds and coastal erosion began to kill it. Meradana was convinced the damage would be permanent and wished, through The King In Yellow, for the Axebane to live on for countless generations (see List of Contracts). The wish sealed the forest inside the red dome of the Shell, where time runs far faster than outside. The trees there have grown dark grey, dense and twisted, and beasts, shambling mounds and the corrupted wood woads of The First have taken it over.
Also known as Axebane, Axebane forest, The Axebane Forest, Axe Bane Forest.
