Mahovana

Mahovana (also Mahavana) is the ruined capital inside the Shell of The Red Wastes, a city rather than a nation or region. It lay within the Red Bubble, a pocket of time dilation much like the one that holds the dwarves of The Citadel. Its stonework has crumbled and its central towers have fallen, smashed through by trees. Inside the bubble, tens of thousands of years' worth of growth have passed, turning the city into a literal maze of rat runs and warrens.

In campaign 2 the party heard of druids from Vistas Landing lost while searching for a shipwreck north of Mahovana, and found a teleportation portal in "the Mahavana conservatory". The vampire Clef Neverthirst slept in the city by day and by night made war on the nearby camps to sate his thirst. The walls of the room where his coffin lay were caked with years of blood and scratch marks, with words carved or painted thousands of times in Draconic: "Netherthirst", "when will you come back", "it never ends", "brother". A great library, the second building from the bottom right on the city map, had become a nest of ghouls; most of its books were destroyed, but a few legible passages about the old city survived. Camp Ambition, close by, had been ravaged by jackal-headed beasts.
