Zelyr

Zelyr (Scabard spells it Zaelyr) is the third moon of Eavaros. Its cycle on the Skyfire calendar is 56 days. It is the smallest of the three moons, little more than a rock. Every 56 days Zelyr rises with a golden glow for two nights. People say this happens when someone, somewhere, finds true love, and the Honey Moon Festival is held in its light (see The Calendar).

The Betrayed. Campaign 3 revealed that Zelyr is no natural moon. According to the Soul Forge murals, about 800 years ago The Orb Weaver secretly forged it on an astral loom as a phylactery for what remained of The Harsh. Its name means "the Betrayed", but it is often mistranslated as "the Betrayer". In May 2025 (real time) the party saw the moon crack open and black ichor spill across the sky. They had already joked about needing to "go blow up the moon", and in June 2025 they decided that "the moon's haunted" and broke the haunting. The moon cracked in 1041 PC (The Cracking of Zelyr), near the end of campaign 3, and it was the Harsh's phylactery. (A January 2026 remark that it cracked "12 years ago" relative to campaign 4 is superseded.) The Harsh fell in the campaign's finale.
