The Baron's Contract

The party found the man-faced Salmon of Knowledge in their cat-bag; it became Uldrick's therapy fish. The SCP confirmed the mote of corruption from below as the largest infestation they had seen. The Baron paid up and explained that he believes the King in Yellow defeated and his contract now held by someone unknown; buying it out means travel to the Hells, or Heishen the Deathless at Fort Obsidian. He had covered for Slick with McScrooge and was still investigating the gala fire (fireworks stolen from the Driftwhisper Amphitheatre). The party suspects Marya Velcrow is spying on Rainclaw without his knowledge.

Communing again, Uldrick learned that Asmodeus owns the contract for the corruption under the city. Slick found his bracelet's symbols uncannily like the envelope's seal. Brother Oils gained a grifter apprentice, and a Night Visitor who wanted to know about the party, Sister Sandra of the Star Dancer's temple, left him a fancy robe. A tabaxi courier of Heishen, talked into reporting back against his will, vanished in a pub when followed. Rainclaw got a necklace. The party went owlbear hunting and strung up the captured young owlbear as bait, then watched the mother in a stand-off.
