Governor Thadeus Crane

Thadeus Crane is the governor of Shade Hollow, a rotund loyalist of the old Dottenland monarchy who kept his post through the revolution and is rumoured to be a diabolist. He is the father of Evelina Crane. When the mine fell silent he called a town meeting, declared all was safe, brought in Lord Cedric and his mercenaries to secure the mine, and put Godrick in charge of the investigation.

Thadeus is a rotund, charismatic, and cunning individual who was fiercely loyal to the former royal family of the Dottenland. His loyalty, however, was more due to the wealth and power they provided him with rather than actual admiration or respect. Despite the change in power, Thadeus managed to maintain his position in Shade Hollow, mostly due to the fact that he discovered a highly valuable resource: Residuum, which he has been hoarding for his personal gain. Thadeus is known for his love of fine food, luxurious clothing, and, of course, power. His lavish lifestyle in the gritty frontier town of Shade Hollow is a stark contrast to the tough and meager existence of its residents. This difference has led to much resentment and suspicion among the townsfolk.
