The Taps

The Taps siphon the souls of the dead. In January 2025 the party learned that the cycle of life and death was broken and that all the dead were ending up in pods in the Shadowfell. In March 2025 an informant explained that five Taps, pulled by five willing souls at once, would make The Harsh stumble, and that the Shadowkiln, buried beneath The Nocturnal Loom's own stronghold in The Regard, was the only tool that could sever its grip. In April 2025 the party fought an eyeball robot guarding a Tap in an air bubble under the sea, and in May 2025 they distilled the Taps into an evil Soul Luxon; the Raven Queen told them to understand its process and undo it. The moon cracked open soon after.
