The Dragonborn Factions

Dragonborn are institutional in Sandwater Slough, overrepresented in the constabulary and harbour guard, and the Creratis Imperium to the south is dragonborn-ruled. The party found that the city's dragonborn influx lines up closely with the waning of its imperial ambitions and the phasing out of slavery. Most of the dragonborn around town are red, green or blue; the dangerous ones came from elsewhere.

There are three factions, each with a dragon: black, white and gem. The three very young dragons, Cometseed, Mireborne and The Rime Lord, are rivals, and their followers revere them as near-divine patrons and compete for their favour. The white faction worships the Rime Lord, a white dragon, as a god. Dr Leith saw dragonborn of several colours, crystal among them, return from the south carrying a smell, and believes they are tied to The Corruption. The party blames them for kidnapping Rainclaw and for a letter sent to every party member in dragonborn handwriting: "Where the sun meets bone, you will be ended." The Baron is purging traitors among them, with poison from Slick (two gem dragonborn died of a poisoned kebab). In the north the party killed many dragonborn, reached a crypt where the last white dragonborn was talked into suicide by Brother Oils, and fought three dragons.
