Duke Feriland

The Duke was already known to the party in their first town ("the one with the armbands"). In Xinstock he hosted a masquerade at his villa, where he and his wife wore black frowning and red happy masks. He blackmails people, so many want him dead, and in September 2019 people on his blackmail list were being robbed. Much of Braggum's "Bragglands" business went through negotiations with him, and in 2021 he was to collect the elemental water for Bragg's distilling. In The Battle for Xinstock he was played as a Russian-accented Zealot barbarian, "a bear".

Years after The Skyfire ("15 years since we checked in with him") he ran a wine and water business ("Bragg and Feriland exports") and his wife kept a horse farm. A one-shot played on 2022-11-30 (real date), "Let's drink Blue Wine together", was set in the Xinsi Empire with the Duke's associates as PCs: his majordomo Elliott Thremberly, who kept the water trade's books; an old elf with brass scales; and "Crisp", a gunslinger monk who lobbied for tobacco. It ended with the Duke dead and a likely conspiracy around Bragg and Feriland wine; some of his employees and friends took over one of his boutique facilities, and no one had told his wife. The one-shot is canon, so the Duke is dead; who killed him, and why, is not recorded.

Duke Feriland is also written Feralan or Ferilan.
