The Lethernian Lattice
Lore Campaign 3The web of soul cocoons in the Shadowfell that fuels the Veil of Letherna; Lord Cedric meant to black out the whole sky with it, and the Nocturnal Loom meant to free the Harsh.
The Lethernian Lattice holds the souls that feed The Veil of Letherna. The souls of the dying, especially those who die near one of its soul anchors, are drawn into cocoons in The Shadowfell, held between the Shadowfell and The Astral Sea so that they never rejoin the wheel.
Lord Cedric's mission was to use all those souls to black out the entire sky, spreading Rookfall's perpetual shadow over the world. The Nocturnal Loom had other ideas: they meant to turn the gathered souls to releasing The Harsh on this side of The Divine Gate.
Alaric Sunstrike, killed near a soul anchor in the Eightfold's raid on Shade Hollow, was one of the souls caught in the Lattice. Kael freed him when the party destroyed the creatures funnelling souls towards the Harsh's release.
