Delin

Delin was the wizard who hired the party when their adventures began. He spoke of abyssal "Gate Runes", gave them water breathing for the sunken temple, and paid out a drinking-contest reward. In July 2019 the Fatemakers intercepted his letter and learned the truth:

"These messengers have outlived their usefulness, killing them will likely introduce new fatemakers… take them alive as fodder for the meat pit… The Baron is blissfully unaware… the Fish Monk has served his purpose… there are only 6 stones left. In the name of the Aspect, Delin"

He was a warlock of The Aspect, and he manipulated the cults the party first encountered, such as The Covenant of the Amaranth Coin, to its ends. He had been in league with the dragon Sim for years. He had already sapped the power of the Thrice Scarred, imprisoned beneath Kheledzund, before the party got there. The party wondered whether he was travelling in time. In 2020 he showed "god-level powers", wrapping a town in "a thick wall of pure death"; he was nearly killed in May and fled. He had a dwarf agent who sought Herminius the Lich. Very early in the Fatemakers' story his forces destroyed the Bosian town of Villon while searching for a warlock who lived there, in the Warlock's House. They captured the warlock's son, whom the party later found in the ruins.

The Fatemakers killed him on 14 September 2020 (real time): his body melted, all his spells unable to save him from 50 pounds of high explosive. His "Puppet Master" remained.

The party's notes sum him up as probably a warlock, in a compact with other forces and part of a larger plan, using the undead to hunt, summon and besiege, and summoning or teleporting them to "sex island" (Scinteria). He had played them like a fiddle.
